“Il mestiere di casting director” by Lilia Hartmann Trapani

The UICD – Unione Italiana Casting Directors announces that on 9 November its member Lilia Hartmann Trapani will be releasing a book entitled “Il mestiere di casting director” (“The Profession of Casting Director”), published by Lupetti (Milan).
The figure of the casting director is becoming increasingly important as one of the key figures in the artistic creation of a film; the casting director is not only the person who assembles the cast in a coordinated manner, but above all the person who knows how to identify and suggest the performer who will contribute the greatest weight and magnetism to a character, the person who often identifies and brings forward new and unknown talents who will become the stars of tomorrow. The book explores all aspects of this fascinating profession and reveals its secrets and certain tricks of the trade. In addition, there is no shortage of valuable practical advice for actors.
